Mandra NAME: Mandra (of Mandragora officinarum, also called Mandrake and Alruna)
RACE: Calanthra (a race © Private Exchange)
HAIR: Green dreadlocks that reaches to the end of her shoulderblades, held back by a headband with a flower on (eyelashes and eyebrows are also green).
EYES: Purple iris and white pupil.
HEIGHT: 175 cm
BUILT: Quite curvy, larger than average breasts.
AGE: About 80 years (equivalent to 19-21, Calanthra lives for hundreds of years)
SPECIAL FACULTIES: She has a long, sleek tail, fins behind the ears, webbed feet and hands (webbing the same transparent, light green colour as the ear-fins), purple bioluminescent markings on cheeks, neck, belly, upper arms, thighs, knees and tail. Her brown skin darkens almost to black towards hands, feet and tail tip. She also has very sharp and pointy teeth, and green nails the same colour as her hair.
WEAPON: Any matter from her body (hair, blood, etc.) combined with her psychic powers starts to glow with a purple bioluminescent light and can be turned into a powerful delirium, deadly poison, or even an aphrosidiac. Her scream also has the power to stun or even kill anyone that hears it (under extreme conditions).

LIKES: Midnight swims under the moon and stars, gossiping, light clothes, a good deal, singing, dancing.
DISLIKES: Early mornings, spoiled plans, people in foul moods, rude customers.

BACKGROUND: Mandra belongs to an alien race that inhabits a planet that mainly consists of water and some few pieces of land. Therefore the planets inhabitants have evovled into creatures who can breath both water and air (they don't have gills). As for the Calanthra, both sexes can reproduce via eggs and same sex relationships are completely normal in their society. All Calanthra are named after a flower that they resemble and they can all use psychic weapons or powers.

However, their planet is under attack by another alien race that comes from a planet where water is a rarity. The Calanthra prefers peace but in the last 600 years or so they have had to become predominantly a fighter race due to constant raids on their planet. But since they live for hundreds of years the conflict has only spanned over a few generations.

Mandra lives in a small town along the coast. It has, thankfully, not seen much of the war so far. Mandra is the owner of a small shop that sells medicine, herbs and scrolls and books on the subjects. She has a keen sense for business, and even though she doesn't enjoy to get up early in the mornings, she runs her little shop with great success! She is also admired around town for her enchanting, beautiful, singing voice. At festivals and town-get-togethers her performances are among the most popular ones. Mandra is a mostly calm and gentle soul. She sees beauty in nature and often stays out late watching the stars, taking an occassional swim, and collecting herbs. She might seem like a dreamer or a bit aloof, but in fact she is very sharp (which her business is proof of). She just likes to take time to herself to think over things.

The only living relative Mandra has left is her grandmother; an old lady with a great sense of humour. She lives only a short walk away, so she drops in now and then. She usually brings delicious food of some sort for Mandra and likes to chitchat and gossip with her about their neighbours and friends.

CONNECTED CHARACTERS: Involved with Anthurian (which belongs to Sarah). Their story isn't completely worked out yet, but this is what we have so far:
Mandra and Anthur meet when she travels from her hometown to the bigger city (where Anthurian lives) to attend a healing symposium. When she first meets Anthur, her impression of him is not good at all. Mutual interest is developed however and after they get to know each other better - they start dating, but they both have a lot to learn. Mandra has a very naïve idea of perfect love, and Anthur is pretty much clueless when it comes to courting.
